Estudios de opinión independientes muestran que gran parte de los agricultores de España y de otros países europeos querrían poder sembrar libremente este tipo de variedades, pero su cultivo está siendo demorado. Pese a que la importación y el consumo de transgénicos en la Unión Europea transcurre sin problemas desde hace cinco años, la aprobación de nuevos cultivos dentro de las fronteras comunitarias está siendo demorado por retrasos administrativos, una compleja evaluación de riesgo medioambiental y el recelo de una parte de los ciudadanos que desconocen el grado
El próximo 17 de noviembre se celebra en el Parc Cientific de la Universitat de Valencia el Primer Encuentro Internacional de Biotecnología, organizado por BIOVAL. En esta jornada participarán diferentes expertos provenientes de Estados Unidos y Europa que contarán su experiencia a empresarios que trabajen o se plateen su entrada en el sector. Dentro de este primer encuentro se debatirá sobre la comercialización de tecnología y conocimiento y se llevará a cabo una mesa redonda con inversores en biotecnología.
